Astoria

Astoria is a multicultural neighborhood of low-rise residences and small businesses, in Queens 15 minutes or less from Midtown Manhattan.. Known for its Greek tavernas and restaurants, the area is home to a variety of traditional ethnic eateries and trendy spots.

The Museum of the Moving Image, with its exhibits about film, television and digital media, is a top draw. The open-air Bohemian Beer Garden and Astoria Park hum with activity in warm weather.

There are a ton of great things to do in Astoria, Queens. Budget-friendly restaurants and cool bars as well as independent boutiques and record stores that make shopping small worth it.
Silver Age Comics, Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden, Grand Cafe, Astoria Soundworks practice studio and the Great Park known as Astoria Park over looking at the East River, and gorgeous views of Upper Manhattan and the Queensboro and Hellgate bridges.

The new Ferry that launched last summer will take you to Manhattan., the service connects Astoria, Queens, to Wall Street in a cool 47 minutes, stops at Roosevelt Island, Long Island City and East 34th Street in between. NYC bikes and bike routes are everywhere.

Astoria has long been a favorite neighborhood of many families who have lived there for generations and for young professional types and hipsters who have discovered the neighborhood and its qualities.

Astoria has a reputation as New York City’s Greektown, but it’s more like an urban United Nations. People from nearly 100 countries live there, according to census data.
They coexist pretty peacefully, but that wasn’t always the case. The explosion of diversity has helped foster a more tranquil community.
